Water = Weight Loss

Water = Weight Loss

 A plain old glass of water, the tap is full of it. But is it important?

Well, we are made up of 50-60% water. Your brain is made up of 75% water. Your blood is 82% water and your lungs nearly 90%. It regulates body temperature, helps breathing, transports nutrients, carries away waste and helps muscle function.
After just three days without it, you’ll die.
So, it’s kind of important. In fact it’s essential.
Most importantly for you, water can play a leading role in your weight loss programme.
For the average person about 8 glasses is sufficient. A good guide to daily intake is to drink 1 ounce of water every 2 pounds of your body weight. So a 200 pound person should be drinking around 100 ounces which is actually 12.5 cups a day.
Did you know that during an hour of vigorous exercise the average person sweats nearly 1 litre? You should therefore aim to drink 1 cup of water every 15-20 minutes while exercising in addition to your daily intake.
·      If your body is not getting water regularly, it will begin to store water reserves in your ankles, hips and thighs. Start drinking water regularly and your body will get rid of the water reserves and you will start to lose weight.
·      Also the better hydrated you are, the faster your metabolism works.
·      If you’re finding it hard to keep those cravings at bay, a glass of water is a quick, healthy way to feel full.  Drink a glass instead of having a snack, have one before your meal and one before going out.
